Reading the journal
You do not need an account to read public articles. This version of the site has no reader registration, newsletter signup, advertising scripts, or third-party analytics.
Hosting and technical information
The site is designed to be hosted on Cloudflare. As part of delivering and protecting the website, the hosting provider may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, and security logs. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for information about its handling of data.
Editor access
The private editing area uses a session cookie to keep an authorized editor signed in. Public readers do not need to use this area. Draft articles and editorial activity are stored for the purpose of preparing and reviewing content.

Articles link to source material on other websites. Those websites operate under their own privacy practices. Following a source link takes you to that site.

If we add advertising, analytics, subscriptions, or other features that change how information is handled, this notice will need to be updated before those features are introduced.
